On May 20, 2020, during an academy-sponsored viewing of the Scott Pilgrim movie, O’Malley jokingly tweeted “bring back the Scott Pilgrim game”, which had Ubisoft reply with a thinking emoji, vaguely hinting at a potential re-release https://ippwatch.info/.
The gameplay is solid, if not as deep as some of its contemporaries or more recent titles like Streets of Rage 4. But, like the movie version of Scott Pilgrim, it’s also incredibly stylish. Fighting enemies is really just an excuse to see the gorgeous pixel art and listen to the amazing soundtrack. Sometimes, after clearing out a wave of enemies, I’ll just sit for a second to soak in the sound and visuals. I’ve been playing on the PS5 via backwards compatibility, and the experience holds up extremely well.

GameTrailers called said PS3 version “an excellent pastiche that will reaffirm your love for classic beat-em-ups.” Kotaku called it “an entertaining little old-school beat-em up that becomes exponentially more entertaining the more friends you play with.” GameSpot said that the game is a bit too chaotic with four players on screen.
This week, that finally changes. More than a decade after it first came out, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is coming to a huge range of new platforms: the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and even Google Stadia. The new version bundles all of the original downloadable content — no paying extra for Knives Chau — and introduces online co-op, but otherwise it’s the same game. Which is exactly as it should be.

“I’ve been going 18 , plus or minus four,” Lovullo said of Pfaadt’s usage. “That’s what I’ve adopted late in the season, so we’ll continue to march on toward that. … He has shown a lot and has earned the right to potentially pitch a little bit deeper in the game, and I’ll read and react.”
In best-of-seven postseason series with the current 2-3-2 format, teams have split the first two games 87 times. The team that played those games at home still went on to win that series 48 times (55%). In any best-of-seven series tied at 1-1, the Game 3 winner has eventually taken the series 68 of 99 times (69%).

The health of Shohei Ohtani’s shoulder was the biggest story coming into today. The shoulder popped out on a slide in Game 2 and despite the broadcast crew tonight letting us know that Ohtani was a swimmer growing up and has flexible shoulders, there was some concern that his swing would be impacted. He didn’t have to swing at all in his first at-bat, drawing a four-pitch walk, but Ohtani took two healthy hacks in his second at-bat, grounding out to second base. He may be swinging through pain, but it looks like he can actually swing the bat tonight.
There’s nothing enviable about coming into the game with two runners on and Shohei Ohtani coming up to bat; however, Nestor Cortes got Ohtani swinging and then induced a weak fly out from Mookie Betts to get out of the jam.

History pulsates in the postseason, all the more when iconic clubs clash. And Valenzuela’s death earlier this week only added to the emotional heft of what is taking place here. Prior to the first pitch, the Dodgers had two of their World Series MVPs — Steve Yeager (1981) and Orel Hershiser (1988) — honor Valenzuela’s memory by placing a ball on the mound, below where his No. 34 had been painted.
Both starters also threw for longer than normal. Yankees starters entered tonight averaging 4.9 innings a start, while Dodgers starters were averaging 3.6, per the Fox broadcast. (Los Angeles has had three bullpen games so far this postseason.)
Flaherty got Stanton to swing over top of a curveball in a similar spot earlier in the at-bat. He tried it again, but left that one up just enough, and Stanton golfed it out. It is sort of remarkable how Stanton will look silly on a pitch, get it again, then hit out of the ballpark. He’s on everything right now. Make a mistake, and it’s in the seats.
